Stephen Raab (2022)

I wish all of my classmates Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year.

Spending the holidays with our children in the Caribbean.

Living in mountains of Santa Fe, New Mexico.  I am still working and enjoying it.

So many of my high school friends are no longer with us.

I left Connecticut in my 20s but often reflect back on my younger days and all the good times in Hamden.

All the best.
Stephen Raab

Steve Raab (before 2022)

52 Years in a Few Paragraph / 8-11/2020
First, I would like to extend my best wishes to my former classmates from the Class of 1969.  I hope this note finds you all in good health during these crazy times.

After graduating from Hamden High School, I served with the army during the View Nam War. Following my time in the army I went to Quinnipiac College graduating in 1975. Shortly after graduating I packed up my VW and headed west to California where I spend over 25 years divided between the San Francisco Bay Area and Orange County in SoCal. I had the opportunity to continue my education at both the University of San Francisco and the University of California, Irvine. In addition to California I lived in Boston for nearly 17 years before moving to New Mexico. I have enjoyed my career working primarily as an environmental engineer on international projects in the power plant industry. At 69 years old I still enjoy working. I am currently working with research scientists at UCLA on a project which captures and utilizes CO2 in the manufacture of concrete. (https://www.CO2Concrete.com).

I have been married for 34 years to Kelly, an artist. We moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2017. We love Santa Fe and have no plans to move.  We have two children, a 30-year old married daughter and a 26- year old son.  We are very close to both of our children.  Great kids, they are the center of our universe.  Both children have completed their undergraduate and graduate educations and both went to college on athletic scholarships, my daughter for equestrian sports and my son for baseball.

Although I lived have not lived in Connecticut for nearly 45 years, I often reflect very positively on my time at Hamden High School. I am saddened that many of my best friends from the Class of 1969 are no longer with us, Fred Jefts, Paul Hollis, Arty McCormack and Henry Mikolinki. We had some fun times back in the day. Great guys.
