I grew up mostly in a suburb of Pittsburgh Pa. and moved to Hamden going into high school. My father’s family was from Hamden. My dear cousin Cheryl Knous became my best friend and we were inseparable. High school was a social activity for me becoming part of a sorority. Following high school, I attended a business school for a year then tried to get into the Air Force. I couldn’t pass the physical but did meet my husband at the induction center. We spent the first four years going from Upper Michigan to California then Delaware. We then moved to CT so our daughter could be near Grandma and Grandpa. I stayed at home and had 2 more children a boy and another girl. We lived in Middletown close to 20 years and decided to uproot and move to Durham, NC where we stayed. My husband passed away in 2011 after 40 years of marriage. Each of my children have a son. 19, 14 and 7. My pride and joy. I was so thrilled to have been able to attend our 50th reunion. I miss my family in CT and all the great foods. Wish Glenwood would move to my area and a good pizza place. Also, a good loaf of Italian bread. |
