Bud Bassoli (March 2023)

Enjoyed going to quite a few Quinnipiac University Men and Women Hockey and Basketball games.  Pretty cool that the hockey programs for Q, Yale, UCONN and Fairfield is very competitive in the state of Connecticut!

I made the local newspaper in March!  A reporter for the Meriden Record-Journal contacted me and did a story on how I have been posting a picture taken by wife Bev every Friday on my Facebook page and on my hometown's "Positively Wallingford" Facebook group! Bev was an avid photographer and passed in September 2021 from a brain tumor.

Bud Bassoli (December 2022)

I recently ventured down to EPCOT in Walt Disney World and visited each country one drink at a time.

I did it ... and then stumbled onto the bus to bring me to my hotel.

My soul mate Bev passed in September 2021, and it has become my mission to share the beauty of her photography mainly through Facebook where I post one of my favorite pictures every Friday.

Click here to see her pics on my website!

12/27/2022: Also, a 4 second clip of a video I shot in 1990 is featured in a national TV Duracell Battery commercial that aired during November & December. It is the 4th clip, from the beginning in the 30 second version, that has my son Steve opening a gift and then tackles Bev while Kyle looks on!

Launch the video and look for the 4th clip!

The past 52 years feels like 60!

Computer technology!!! Geekdom!!! Started in 1968 at the Town of Hamden Computer Center located next to Mr. Jacobs class room, then onto The Travelers in 1974, and lastly at SNET/SBC/AT&T from 1974 to 2008.

Quinnipiac: graduated with a BS in Computer Science in 1974; then some graduate work; adjunct instructor; and School of Business Information Technology Advisory Board member.

With all that IT stuff ... I cannot even play a stupid video game ... Yet, check out this family video from 1988 that went viral on YouTube in 2018 ... 30 years later ... Click Here.  Part of the video was just used in a Netflix TV series called High Score (Season 1 Episode 4 about 2 minutes from the beginning).

After retiring from the full time work world in 2008, I started my own business building websites and consulting for small businesses. And I built this website.

I have been married to the Love of my Life Bev since 1977 living in Wallingford, CT. We have 2 sons: Steve, wife Katie and daughters Ivy & Rheya; and Kyle, wife MaryKate and sons Evan & Jack. We enjoy family gatherings and watching the grandchildren, and traveling with our 3 dogs in the Northeast.

My passions are Orlando Theme Parks, Loop Coasters, Chicago the Band, a good clean (or dirty) joke, and RVing.

Be well Be safe during these trying times!

Ever since I was a kid, photography intrigued me.  I was mesmerized on how a camera could capture an image onto film, then the process of developing the film, and then printing the negative onto a piece of photography paper.  Capturing that moment in time as a keepsake for me and hopefully for someone else to enjoy.

I owned a Brownie, then a Kodak instamatic, and then the leap to a Miranda 35 mm single lens reflex ... hot stuff.  While attending Quinnipiac, I worked part time in the Photo Department at Caldor in Hamden where I learned the film developing process and sold the equipment and chemicals to develop and print enlargements.  But I preferred selling the cameras with all of the f-stop, aperture and shutter speed technology.  It was fun meeting the photo customer geeks and hearing their story.

One day, in October 1969, I tagged along with John Petrulis (HHS 1966), a professional photographer, and shot some freelance pictures at a North Branford High School football game.  To my surprise, four of my pictures appeared in the NBHS Class of 1970 Year Book ... John had 2 of his pictures in that yearbook!

Well ... majoring in Computer Science took its priorities in getting my BS degree and working on Computers for the next 40 years.
In 1975, I met Bev, the love of my life, who also shared a passion for photography.  What a team we were for seeing who took the better picture ... of course she won!!! Darn!

Over the years we have owned better and better cameras, and the digital cameras are the norm not to mention smart phones.
