The years after high school graduation have gone by oh so fast.
After graduation from Hamden High, I attended and graduated from Quinnipiac College with a BS in accounting in 1973. My first professional job was with an accounting firm in Stamford for a year, followed by a few years as a staff accountant at CMS. That is where I met my wife MaryAnn, got married and moved from Hamden to New Haven.
A year later move to Meriden, left CMS after a few years to become an Internal Auditor with the Travelers Insurance COS. Stayed there for 16 years and got laid off with 5,000 others, during that time we had two children Dana Elizabeth and Nicholas Andrew. In the early 80s, we move to Wallingford where we built a home and stayed for over 30 years. When I was 50 years old I decided to become a Volunteer Firefighter in Wallingford serving out of Yalesville Volunteer Fire Department. During 911, I became a Hazmat Tech and also qualified as a driver for emergency vehicles.
Held various consulting jobs since then,as as no one wanted to hire an experienced worker. Got hired as a business analyst around 1999 by Aetna Financial Services, was laid off again along with the whole department. Went back to consulting and worked for Sikorsky and Pratt & Whitney as a Cost Analyst. I got hire by Pratt and retire two years ago and moved to Shelton.
